STERILE PROCESSING TECHNICIAN

Summary:
The Sterile Processing Technician performs a variety of tasks related to the preparation of instruments and equipment for procedures and surgeries.
Operates a variety of sterilizing and decontamination equipment using disinfectant/sterilizing agents.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, instrument and equipment cleaning, inspection, re-processing, distribution, inventory and record keeping functions.
The primary patients provided for in the Surgical Services Department are adults and geriatric patients.
Pediatric patients are occasionally admitted.
For this position:
duties, tasks and responsibilities are consistent regardless of the age of patient.
No direct patient care is performed.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Completion of a Sterile Processing Technician Program within 6 months of hire.
Licensure:
Sterile Processing Certificate Preferred.
Experience:
Two years' experience in a Sterile Processing Department preferred.
Ability to work effectively in stressful situations.
Must be in good physical condition to meet the demands of the position.
Basic computer skills.
PAY / BENEFITS Estimated pay:
$19.
00 to $21.
00 per hour based on qualifications (including but not limited to experience, education, certifications, and licensure where applicable).

Temporary, Varied Shifts, 1000am-630pm High School diploma or equivalent.
Completion of a Sterile Processing Technician Program within 6 months of hire.
Sterile Processing Certificate Preferred.
Two years' experience in a Sterile Processing Department preferred.
Ability to work effectively in stressful situations.
Must be in good physical condition to meet the demands of the position.
